NoiseTech Microwaves Ltd. is based in Calgary, Alberta Canada. It was originally co-founded by Leo Belostotski and Michael Himmelfarb to make noise-parameter measurement accessible even to smaller team and startups who cannot afford other expensive options. As the result we developed impedance generators used for ultra-fast and accurate noise parameter measurements. It was soon realized that our approach is also applicable to measuring noise parameters of cryogenic circuits, which led NoiseTech to building industry-first line of products for measuring cryogenic noise parameters. Switches were also developed to speed up calibration and reduce the number of times connections have to be manipulated. The frequency range has also evolved from that of standard wireless systems (0.1 to 6GHz) to 20GHz and above for quantum computing/sensing applications.

Dr. Leo Belostotski

Dr. Leo Belostotski

Dr. Leo Belostotski, is the CEO and a co-founder of NoiseTech Microwaves Ltd.. Dr. Belostotski is a professor and a Canada Research Chair in High-Sensitivity Radiometers and Receivers at the University of Calgary. Leo’s research focus has been on developing novel integrated circuits with particular interest on ultra-low-noise receivers and methods of verifying their operation. Some of the recent integrated circuits developed by his research group include RF receivers, beamformers, and ADCs.

Michael Himmelfarb

Michael Himmelfarb

Michael Himmelfarb, MSc, PEng, is the CTO and a co-founder of NoiseTech Microwaves Ltd.. Michael received BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2013 and 2016. His MSc research was a precursor to co-founding NoiseTech Microwaves whose original focus was on designing and selling RF test equipment that enabled noise parameter measurements to be more accessible outside of research and academic applications.
