NoiseTech’s families of impedance generators and switches are developed for measuring noise parameters. These can be used in many applications, for example WiFi, ANT, WiMax, LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, 4G, 5G, IoT, biomedical, radio astronomy, quantum computing.
Noise parameters are “vector” noise figures. Noise parameters provide a full picture about
- the best noise figure a certain design/device can achieve
- they tell us how sensitive the device’s noise figure is to impedance mismatches,
- and they tell us how the input matching should be developed to achieve the best noise figure.
In contrast, the standard noise figures only tell us the performance of the device for a given signal-source resistance.
More information about noise parameters is available at NoiseTech’s primer on noise parameters and in the resources menu under Application Notes and other resources and FAQ.
The following video demonstrates a step-by-step procedure of measuring noise parameter measurement ith NoiseTech impedance generator IG0160C.
